Blimey Cookey You got money to burn lol

It's a nice collection you have going on there Cookey. They probably retain their value better than the real thing!

So when are you going to build the race circuit ?

Heck, even though these are models you'll still need a full size garage to keep them all in! Haha :D I wouldn't mind the RS one to be fair :P, also a model of my car and my partners.

We've started getting those Duc.k Design cartoon cars for every car that we get. I'm soon to get the MK7 (facelift) to start my collection on my side fo our new double garage, he's already got his seat and his Focus ZS framed too xD hehe! The little things :)

That.. I do wish ;)

Thanks, and I hope so, I cant see myself ever selling them though...

After I've got my own car sorted (another story) I'll be setting out to be building a Diorama/garage or them, going to Ikea tomorrow to buy display units etc...

Aha I wouldn't mind that! Be a man cave! models on the wall, pool table, tennis table, a bar and gym upstairs.... hm...

Ah right, I get you, interesting, I never really liked them but I've found myself in the past few years being drawn to them in shops. May have look for a couple.

RE: models of your cars, you the closest you can get to a Fiesta Zetec S is the Rally Ford Fiesta RS or a Chinese made five door Fiesta with Dress up kit.

As for the Focus and Seat what plate are they?

I don't collect them but I do have a 1988 Lambourghini Countash...that I've no idea where it came from!  I know I was under 4 when I got it as we were in the first house but my parents can't remember getting it either.

I wanted to get small models of each car I've owned but they don't make most of them lol, and the ones they do aren't the right colour.

That man cave sounds like a top plan to me.

Yeah they are just something I suggested to kind of keep a record of every car we've had. He started it haha.

Wouldn't mind a go in the Rally fiesta for real never mind a model ;) and where is that from? If anything I'd be buying my partner his focus for maybe a Christmas present and that's it lol.

Seat isn't important really but the Focus is a 62 plate Race Red Zetec S, 1.6 Ecoboost 180BHP :P (one of the special ones before they started shoving the 1.5 Ecoboosts in them!)

Nowt wrong in collecting model cars! Brother in law has about £5,000 worth in all scales but they have to be top notch from the likes of Mini Champs - Sun Star - OTTO - Auto Art etc

You need to look at German OTTO models ? Fantastic resin bits of art.

Until you hold a OTTO model car you don't realise how fantastic they are! The windows are ultra thin - car bodies are made from cast resin - fully detailed interior - paint finish is as good as the real thing.... but being cast resin none of the doors/boot/bonnet open.

These cars are not mass produced items but are made with love & care.

I'll let you know when I've won the lottery 😉🤑

I'll drop you some links... The fiesta RS is a minichamps model. You can get it with liveries but there is the plain body version which looks quite nice 😏

There is a focus Zetec S, but they only do it an orange colour? Unfortunately, it's quite expensive and it's only from a manufacturer in China, but I've spoke to a few guys who have bought other ford models from the same people and they say it's pretty decent... image.pngimage.pngimage.png

The Focus RS I'm looking at is made from Resin By Ottomobile.

Thanks for your help, though it looks like there isn't the facelift Mk7 Fiesta out yet, and if the orange focus is the only one, its the Pre facelift focus that my partner has xD confusing right? they look great though :) and i'm guessing you've got at least one!

Might just have a look at the RS by Ottomobile, he can pretend he actually has one then :P

I forgot to add this one.. My bad.

and there is a pre-facelift focus st in red? And I reckon I could find a pre-facelift focus... (Does research)

even though they are from Aliexpress.... I've spoke to a few guys and they've bought models from the same or similar sellers and they've said the model is spot on.

Pre-facelift ST

i don't have any of them yet...

I'm wanting the orange focus I sent you earlier, and the Focus ST in blue though.

And haven't got the fiesta yet either, when I do get it, I'll be stripping the paint off it and spraying it deep impact blue though😏

That's all well and good stripping the paint back but you've got to replicate the decals that has been removed! This can be done by finding high res' pictures of such badges like Fiesta & the Ford badges, putting them onto a program which will enable you to scale the pictures down without pixelating them, then print the tiny pictures on high quality decal paper, once you've got the scale correct print a full sheet off of the badges & names, you can of course take a pic of your number plates and do the same with them and put on the decal sheet.

You have to use a high quality printer to print the decals off, a cheapo' printer will produce poor decals, also the decals will have to be 'sealed' to stop the colours from running into each other.

Each decal will then have to be cut out individually.

Only thing I can find is what I believe is a cheap plastic model? Even that's an ST.

OR...

There is a Diecast model of an st but it's scale is 1/43, you'd be able to fit it in the palm of your hand...

This thread has reminded me of something.

My late Dad had quite a collection of scale models, particularly Bentleys from the 1920's-1940's, that he used to keep at his office and then when he retired he bought home.

I don't know what happened to them when he died.  It's possible either of my brothers now have them but my Mum has hung on to his collection frog memorabilia (he also has a passion for frogs), so I would've thought she'd kept the models too.

Models are very nostalgic no matter what the purpose behind owning them is.

Sounds like a great collection!

You might want to chase it up mate, get them displayed if they aren't already!

Yeah, was referring to a Focus. Ah ok, shame :(

Nice Mark! Looking good fella! 😏👍🏻

I don't collect F1 cars to be honest, I did when I was a kid, I had a few back then. Not anymore though... Just in the process of buying a five door fiesta with dress up kit at the moment 😏 Also received a Ford GT II LM spec Test car in carbon. Gotta send it back though as the windscreen is faulty 😩😩😩

  • 2 weeks later...

Received four models today. Replacement GT II, (also from Gran turisimo) Escort Cosworth, Focus RS Le Mans tribute. And picked a fiesta WRC RS up from the post office after work.

Oh, and last week received a Police Mustang, a Ford Focus "presentation", some may remember it from the game, a Gran Turisimo?
